I’m delighted to have been asked back by the terrific London Writers’ Café for this Masterclass.
One of the most important questions you can ask of your fiction or creative non-fiction is “Who is telling this story?” And even if your narrator is one of your characters - or you don’t think you’re using a narrator at all - digging into the answer has profound implications for point-of-view, voice, and even structure. Your choices about narrators, in other words, can make all the difference to creating a compelling story.
In this practical workshop we will think about narrators: who they are, how they work, how to make the most of yours, and what might happen if you changed to a different one. You should leave having tried your hands at a few new narrative tools and possibilities, and with a clearer sense of how to make the most of your narrator, whatever or whoever you choose to work with.
Tickets are £25; click through to the London Writers Café website to book.
